french parliament voted tonight the "mariani amendment" : DNA testing of would-be immigrants wanting to join their families in france.
i thought that the french motto was "liberty, equality, fraternity". i was wrong. so, so ashamed. as if family was only genetic. as if we could only accept families of those who are already here . as if france wasn't france anymore. as if we killed voltaire, diderot, descartes, rousseau, pascal and the enlightenment again. oh, by the way this picture is called 'balance', and is as found in an abandoned farm near étampes, france. so, so ashamed.
